Top notes are Nashi Pear, Hinoki and Black Pepper; middle notes are Incense, Ambrette and Iris Butter; base notes are Rice, Earthy Notes, Bran, Musk and Moss. In 1947, Nashi seeds dating back to Japan’s Yayoi period were unearthed in the ancient ruins of Toro, in Shizuoka prefecture. From this discovery, ānti composes a meditative fragrance, balancing the crisp freshness of Nashi pear with the earthy depth of Hinoki wood, refreshed by the gentle drip of rain over rice paddies.Black pepper cuts through the silence like bold brushstrokes on paper, while iris, ambrette, and incense glow softly, as though burning in ancient bronze censers. Finally, moss, musk, earth, and rice bran anchor the scent, settling it like a tatami mat—monastery floors worn smooth by centuries of devotion."It was crucial for me to dive into Japan’s meditative universe.
